What can I change in Business Settings?
Your business's name, phone number, and address, plus the three controls covered below — all off by default, all independent of each other.
What does "Require deposit (money in) approval" do?
When on, the person who records a receipt can never be the one who confirms its deposit — someone else on the team has to do that step. It's off by default, since a sole proprietor or very small team wouldn't have anyone else to do the confirming. See "What is deposit approval, and should I turn it on?" in The Ledger for more.
What does "Require expenditure (money out) approval" do?
The same control, mirrored for expenditures: when on, whoever records an expenditure can't be the one who approves it. See "What is expenditure approval?" in The Ledger for more.
What does "Require receipt upload" do?
When on, every new ledger entry needs a receipt or document attached before it can be saved. Editing an entry that already has one doesn't force a re-upload — leaving the file field blank keeps the one it already has.
Who can access Business Settings?
Owner/Admin only.
What happens if I close this business?
From the bottom of Business Settings, an Owner/Admin can close the business — you'll need to type its name to confirm first. Everyone is locked out immediately, and a full data export (every month's ledger and Profit vs Loss, plus your category list) is generated automatically and stays downloadable the whole time it's closed. Nothing is deleted right away — the business stays fully intact for 30 days, after which it's permanently and irreversibly deleted.
Can I undo closing a business?
Yes — any time within those 30 days, an Owner/Admin can click Reopen this business on the closed-business page to restore full access instantly, with nothing lost. Past 30 days, it's gone for good and there's no way to bring it back.
